Robert Rodriguez was doing a video chat interview on Facebook and I asked him about the music video he shot on a 7D and if he planned on using one for a feature. He responded by saying that he used a 5D for certain shots in Machete including the shot from above in the opening scene where Machete cuts the three guys heads off. He said he enjoyed using it for shots with limited space where it would have been more difficult to use other cameras.
He was also asked about the RED cameras and said that they are quite good but he is using the Alexa camera right now and he really likes it a lot and he thinks it's a beautiful camera.
Nothing earth shattering, but it's still cool to hear him talk about using similar cameras as us when he's been shooting digital for 10 years now.
