Rob Zombie's Halloween

If im not mistaken Halloween is the highest grossing indie film to date. Thats why it had bad acting and so on...It was shot for 300 grand and grossed something like 55 million. If anybody can make Halloween better then the original, its this guy. He said himself that if it just seemed to be the same thing over again like the Omen remake, he would can the project. This guy is totaly devoted to making this movie the best i can be. I think having a little more back story will be better for the film, because Myers is the main character in Rob Zombies version.

i like the idea of MM being the main character, but too much exploration into the character can kill the movie

i tend to hate when remakes try and explain everything, why cant they just follow the "Jaws" route, sometimes killers are just killers

That's gonna be the main problem I have with this movie. If you show Michael too much, he loses impact. I love how Carpenter kept him in the shadows, always lurking. If he's in it too much, he'll turn into Jason Voorhees and he won't be scary.

How can a man that doesn't speak be the main focus? Will he talk now too?

I agree jpeck. But he's not just a killer. Loomis said he looked straight into his black eyes and saw the devil. I just got done watching it again. He was shot and stabbed so many times in the first film alone that no ordinary nutjob could survive from. Myers is EVIL. I'm talking supernatural here. We don't need to know anything else.

Exactley, that is what I meant.

That is why I brought up Jaws, just imagine if they tried to remake it and explore it from the sharks POV and give it motives like Orca the Killer Whale.

Some "villians" don't need an explanation.

Anyways, this is the first Zombie film that I am actually looking forward to, lets hope he delivers.

im just glad carpenter is actually consluted for this movie... unlike the others... so i think it means alot to carpenter if he did the movie now he could because carpenter has badly declined..... but zombie has a good sense of direction and character.... so i cant wait...

I am okay with them remaking this, but if they remake The Thing, I will cry, even though it is technically a remake.

Bingo!

lets face it guys he gonna breath life into a worthless series of filkms i say yay... becuase MM sucks besides the first 2.

Yikes is this movie going to suck.

"Inside every one of us . . . There exists a dark side" (cue Vader's respirator)

This movie would be humorous if it was a conceptual thing, or a joke. "Hey, did you hear Rob Zombie is going to remake Halloween?" *snicker*

I don't wanna know what makes Mikey tick. I want to NOT know what is or isn't going on inside him.

I want suspense, not gore induced revulsion instead. I want fear, not over the top graphically depicted violence instead. I want drama, not dizzying camera work and cursing instead. Rob Zombie remaking Halloween would be just like Lucas remaking . . .

Oh, wait a minute.

Trailer sucked, movie is going to suck.

I can't quite get the my mind around the “Zombie filmmaker” bandwagon. His movies aren't good. Period. No, his movies suck. Period. Because he used to be a marginally talented, studio-crutched musician he is a great filmmaker? Are you kidding?

And he is going to rape one of the best villains of all time.

For shame.

I wonder if every other word will be "f**k" like in his last two pieces of garbage.

Okay so it's fair to say that this is a "I can't wait to see it!" or "It's gonna suck!" movie. Lets not bash each other.

i just think its funny becuase people are acting like the last 9 sequels of halloween were such gold compared to something they havent seen yet. lol. i think thats why i've kinda resisting to coming online lately, people attack movies so easily.......... not just any movies but good movies.

I think because Halloween 1 + 2 are the founders of the genre people are bound to get pissed, plus downing a movie is easy because taste is subjective and I for one do it all the time. However I will say that I respect most films as projects and try and keep my critique to the overall effect the film had on me. Plus Halloween rocks and remaking it is a really, really touchie endevor, it'd be like saying I'm shooting Psycho again..... oh wait....

but i thnk if john carpenter thinks its a good idea i think people should get over it. no one asked hitchcock if it was ok... but he did help with the script and is a consultant for the film.... i see no harm in it.

No, people are acting like the first two movies, which were the only two not "sequaled" into bastardized, laughable submission, were movies far beyond anything Rob Zombie is capable of directing. And in his attempt of a remake he is going to destroy the character that so important to those movies.

And no, people dont usually attack movies, they attack the people/studios doing them. And if by "good movies", you mean other things that Zombie has directed, that's only your opinion of good movies.

You are so quick to complain about "people attack movies so easily" and yet you have no problem attacking the people who "attack movies so easily".

Rob Zombie's films thus far have sucked. If he didn't have the name recognition, he wouldn't be taken seriously at all. Just because the guy was famous for music before he got into movies does not translate into him being a good writer/director. And his musical past is the only reason he is in films.

John Carpenter was a far better song writer than Rob Zombie is a director.

i never listen to his music... I just think he has a interesting way in telling stories. I just know people attack filmmaker with out making a movie. so thats why i say that I just think people attack it so easily and yet the original director embraces him and they like each other. now why cant we think he has a good way of telling a story. would you version of halloween be the better or best if given the oppertunity who knows... if john hudosn made halloween the remake would he try to make it like the original or would he create a new element to it who knows. if I directed it what would I do different or simular who knows. i just think prejudement is tossed to quickly.... plus they guy doesnt make **** hes made an preety good film and people seem to like it its not like uwe bolls halloween... it could haven been eli roth's, Tarintino's, Filini, hitchcock, Kurosawa anyone could be making it and the judgement would still be there... just be happy it will be sometihng like the originals and not like the sequels.
