RIP: Patrick Swayze

A sad day indeed. I guess we all hoped he'd bounce back, but at the same time knew it was a matter of tragically short time.

I guess we all hoped he'd bounce back,...

That's what makes this so sad. The fact that he was hanging on was very encouraging. Though, I knew it was probably a matter of time, I was hoping he'd miraculously beat it.

Yea, I just didn't see this one coming today. Been a crazy week and it's only Monday. RIP.

****, this really sucks. I was hoping he'd recover. He might not have been in the spotlight a lot as of late, but he was a fine actor and always did a great job in his various roles, whether in a serious film or a popcorn flick. Red Dawn and Point Break being two favorite guilty pleasures of mine, that a lesser actor wouldn't have brought as much depth to the roles Swayze played in them, thus helping to give those two films more gravity. Say what you will about Point Break as a film, but Swayze's character and excellent performance transcended that film's script and ambitions.

His last performance(s) on the A&E series The Beast, was really raw and a little unnerving at times. It was so different from his more famous film roles that he'll be remembered for. It's a shame he didn't get to continue doing that show, and then move on to other edgy roles. I think he could've had a John Travolta-like career revival. He did end his career on a great and risky performance though, so that is something to give him lots of credit for, especially since he was ill while working on The Beast.

RIP.

Cancer sucks... I have a 21 year old friend just starting the fight... f*cking bitter... me that is... I'm feeling f*cking bitter.

Patrick always seemed to be a nice guy... a good guy in the industry...

He was class. Everything he touched was gold. Even SNL when he did the skit with Chris Farley. God bless his family. RIP
