Rigging the O7Q

It's stock with westsideav shoulder mount on bottom. I can easily attach 15mm rods going forwards only. On top is a screw-in addon to the top stock handle. Westsideav evf mount makes a little side rod for the alphatron for run and gun

Well I've bit the bullet and pre-ordered the solid camera "full kit". As I started to add up the individual bits they of course added up to more than the kit, and I will pretty much use all of the kit plus a 2nd battery mount. Plus a camera top plate. It did add up, but with top plates for other cameras I might own/rent it looks like I'll have it for a while.

As soon as luts are in fw and I get a bolt receiver, guarantee the 7q starts to get passed/moved around as a monitor. It needs protection. I can't go back to avchd vs 4k2hd ;)

So I'm nearly there I think.

Disregard the v-lock sort of just sitting there... gonna be replacing it with the sony battery plate from Westside AV i think... think to attach it to the right side where the rosette is to balance it more towards centre (its leaning left).

Used bits of edelkrone and zacuto to get this.

(I happen to have this pretty awesome view, so testing the resolution out on all the fine detail of the buildings)

That looks pretty easy and smart.

Is it the zacuto baseplate you're using?
How's the edelkrone focus?

Thanks for sharing!

Extremely jealous, I can't justify the cost. They make some really well designed items

Would love to see some pics once you get everything rigged up

Think it may be a little while. Seems like they are under the pump getting all the various bit organised and up onto their web store for order variations. I'm going to be in the us in a week for two weeks but think I would be chancing it changing shipping to there given their current state of that kit. So it's going to be at least three weeks for mine even if they shipped it next week (which they probably won't). Someone else has ordered it as well on this forum which is great.

Nope, from zacuto its just the grip relocator and counter weights. The actual baseplate is from edelkrone's module system.

I love the focus plus... makes operating more convenient as you can place it in different positions.

Is these guys legit?

I'd love a rig, but can't afford much right now.

I'm mostly interested in a decent top handle, and also a shoulder pad/grip relocator. Would love to keep it around $400 but all i see are $900 rigs around.
Yeah it is legit. However it is a Knockoff of the Movcam not an actual Movcam. Someone on here posted about it a few weeks ago and supposedly the quality was not too bad. Here is another link with some info: http://www.thecinecity.com/eshop/CAMTREE-Hunt-FS700-Cage-for-Sony-Nex-FS700.html

Thank you,

What shoulderplate are you using Olof?

I am looking for a system where the shoulderpad can be quick released off with Gitzo/Frotto/Sachtler plates and the camera can be mounted quickly to crane, dolly, tripod, glidecam etc.

I am looking for a system where the shoulderpad can be quick released off with Gitzo/Frotto/Sachtler plates and the camera can be mounted quickly to crane, dolly, tripod, glidecam etc.

I use my own shoulder system. And I like using the VCT-14 plates (the old standard) or the TA-100 Canon version. My kit also works fine with Sachtler or Manfroto (with a quick mod). You do not need to remove the shoulder pad to use on sticks etc. The QR plate can easily be slid forward and back to help balance different setups.

My kit is very scalable from the most compact to pretty big. I can also add rails in the back but my back cheese plate and optional wing is much lighter and more compact and can hold wireless mics, batteries recorders etc...

My handle extension makes shouldering very comfortable and it can be flipped to the back and used as a pan bar with the controls easily reached when on sticks.

There are videos demonstrating the system in detail on the store side bar.

The kit can be seen on this page:

Any recommendations on a good articulating arm to mount the 7Q on a rig like this: http://www.thecinecity.com/New_Images/DSLR_Rigs/camtree-hunt-fs-700-cage-07.jpg

1. I'd like to use it in place of an EVF for the shoulder rig.
2. Looking for an arm that tightens or loosens pretty quick and easy for adjustments. I have a Pearstone one right now but i really have to crank that thing over and over to tighten it.
3. I'll have the camera on a tripod, and be in front of the camera at times too. Would like an articulating arm so i can just swing it around to the front, lower it, raise it above the camera, whatever.

You may want to check out my Odyssey bracket:

There are videos demoing how the system works:

It is a very versatile and light weight system where the Odyssey is always level with the horizon.

Compatible with almost any camera. Clutched articulation does not require lock/unlock levers. Can be big or small. Can be all the way forward or all the way backward. Can be sideways.
