C200: Rigging C200 handle to a Ronin-M

The extension cable will work, but Shape makes a slightly cheaper one. The screw on the C200 handle isn't long enough to connect into the Smallrig rosettes, from the picture Wooden Cameras seems like it will work well.

For anyone who owns a C200 and one of the other Canon Cinema cameras, does the C200 hand grip work with other models? I know that it won't attach to the rosette because they are different, but does the functionality work when the cable is plugged in? I ask because I don't have a grip handle for my C500 and am going to buy a grip handle for my C200B and use the above Wooden Camera accessories to utilize it on the Ronin-M, and I'm wondering if I could use the same set up when I have my C500 rigged up in the Ronin.

I have not tried my C200 handle on an older C series camera but I have hooked up a C300 MKII grip to a C200 and it worked so I believe the connector and protocol is the same?

Any chance you've tried connecting the C200's touch screen (LM-V1) to a C300 Mark II monitor cable to see if it displays an image? I know touch focus won't work, but I'm just really curious to know if I could buy an LM-V1 to use as a small powered monitor on a gimbal.

Do you mean as a monitor on a c300II? I doubt that would work. The Canon UN-10 cable does let you extend the monitor on the c200 to place it on the top bar of a gimbal.

Yeah, using the LM-V1 as a small gimbal monitor for the C300ii. I mean, they use the same cable - theoretically the protocol for sending a video signal could be shared between the two cameras. I know there's likley firmware issues standing in the way of that, but if it simply display's the C300ii video signal - I'd consider buying one. Better again, if Canon update the C300ii to support the touch focus function :D.

So, has anybody here had a chance to try this? I wonder if Loren would have any insights.

I'm considering signing up to Twitter just to ask Canon at this stage.

I'd be too nervous that I'd fry the monitor or worse the camera! Who knows if they've made some serious changes in the pins but kept the cable the same... The cable is ridiculously expensive too. I just picked one up for I should use the c200's monitor on my gimbal, shoulder mount, etc... it was $350... for a cable!
