Ridiculous amount of grain even at low ISOs

Hey Mico,
How doi you know what the data rate is for his clip and where is this in the camera settings?

The MKll shoots 1080p h.264 at 38.6 Mbs

Most editing or conforming apps will give you data info, i.e item properties in FCP.

im having the same problem. my camera is REALLY bad.... i think im going to return it...

Follow some of my posts on cinema5d on this subject. Chances are you're not sitting with a defective camera. Just defective settings. There are a lot of things you have to set right to get this thing to look good.

Well with stills the ability to remove grain is a completely different animal. What we are showing you are the non-interpolated ISO settings. If you use only these, it cuts your noise and compression artifacts quite a bit. I know it sucks, but it is what it is.

I've had so many confusing experiences with noise/compression off the Mark2 -

Now I'm sort of realizing that everytime I see noise, it's usually due to either high usage of the camera (hot sensor) or just because it was very hot or humid outside...

I will totally agree with this!!! I want to chalk it up to my understanding and knowledge about the camera, but lately I've been thinking more and more about it. Maybe there is a non-factory burn-in time with the sensor that has to occur?!?

HMMMMMM..... 'Cause yeah, now it shoots like a champ.... I'm hard pressed to get it to throw the types of bad compression it used to. Looking at that first image I posted on this thread is a distant memory... and it still HOT AS F**k down here. I've shot in a jungle with this cam now too with none of these early problems.

Very interesting.
