ReWo's GH2 cage

Although this would make my GH2 looking even more friggin' awsome... I just think it's a bit too pricey for my liking: http://www.rewoshop.com/epages/62972526.sf/en_GB/?ObjectPath=/Shops/62972526/Products/002

You can view more *real* pics of the cage here (I don't know why they would put sketches on the actual product page!): http://www.rewoshop.com/epages/6297...hops/62972526/Categories/Gallery1/ReWo_on_Set

The pre-order offer only lasts till the end of this week!

That cage looks awesome. My only apprehension with any type of gear like this is that it's dedicated to only one camera body type with no future compatibility options. I bought the full Easom cage before it was officially for sale and have since split the cage arms along with extra rods and I have 2 full cage setups that fit Canon or GH2, allowing monitor, mics, FF and more to attach. Money well spent and can be used with most any DSLR type bodies going forward.

But that GH2 cage by ReWo is nicely machined and well done.

Follow focus rods can't be raised?

Hey,

The distance from the Rods to the middle of the Lens is the Industry standart (85mm) This would use by all the professional 15mm Products... Why you would raise them? It matches only the GH2 in the cage and its very precision related with that. Even a adjustable Rodblock would raise the price of the product.

Too bad there is no room for battery grip.

A Battery-grip make the use of other shoulder options through 15mm Rods impossible ;-)

Cheers!

Philip

Suggestion for improvement: Would be nice if you could move the rails without the need for any tools (thumbscrew). If you change lenses, you might also have to adjust the rails... would be nice if this could be done without the need for any tools (like with almost all other available baseplates). Looks like a nice product, too bad that the dollar is so weak at the moment....

We´ve build our own Thumb- crank/screw already. They are not complete finished now, thats why they not shown on that pictures.

P.S. The Base Plate of the Rod support-block is designed for the use of 19mm BridgePlates like the Arri BP3,5,8 and other similar 19mm Bridgeplates, that allows you the use of on a Dovetail System and the use of bigger Zoom lenses.

Hey Philr, glad to finally have your input on this thread! Hope sales are going well.
What are those knobs on the side for? Attaching a strap?

I also echo photonashville's comment. One other main reason for me in being apprehensive in buying your awesome product is because it only suits one camera. Technology - especially digital cameras - gets recycled far too quickly. The GH2 is great but soon it will be replaced, as will the cage with it.

Here you can see the Cage with Thumbscrews & on Set.

this may be a dumb question, but does the bottom of the cage (underneath the rails), have a tripod screw hole?
