Reviewing Raw footage on a TV..?

As part of the process of getting to know the controls and features on my new DVXB, I've been shooting our dog doing everything from sleeping to pooping. Yep, poor Fido has had no privacy for the last 48 hours.

So, I'm basically shooting him for 3 or 4 minutes..then plugging the DVX into the front panel of my TV set and playing back the footage in VCR to see what I've done. Rewind the tape...and reshoot. Bright light, dim light, indoors outdoors, all while trying different screne files, and a variety of settings with WB, iris, shutter, gain..etc. Things are really making sense now and this camera isn't so scary after all!!

I have yet to play with any footage in my NLE....but in the meantime, is what I see on TV the true display of my footage?

Oh!! Fido is getting ready to take a nap....' gotta run and shoot this..!

Sincere thanks,
Rob

I always like looking at stuff on a normal old 19" TV after I shoot with the AV cables. I am sure the color is a little off for me cause the TV is so old, but it is nice to see a larger picture than the DVX LCD screen. It is very crisp on my TV.

Maybe if you run the color bars (one of the USER buttons by the ND filter, and adjust your TV appropriately you can probably get a realistic preview of your footage
