Return of the Jedi deleted scene.

Yeah, Ivory Soap.

And wasn't Proctor and Gamble startled to realize that their '99-44/100ths percent pure' ad-girl in the 70s turned out to be none other than...

...Marilyn Chambers.

Watched the DVD of Jedi tonight and yeah... He screwed then up... Adding Hayden at the end took the cake! I felt like Lucas flipped me off right there and then cut to credits lol

During the Main Event at Star Wars Celebration, George Lucas announced that the original trilogy will be released on Blu-Ray in 2011. As a teaser, we got a chance to see this deleted scene from Return of the Jedi.

Admittedly screwing up - or further screwing up - 'Jedi' doesn't seem quite so bad as what was done to 'A New Hope.'

True true.

Thankfully, my favorite of the three, Empire, wasn't messed with too much.

What all was added in Hope? I wonder if there is a website that shows all the changes.

Agreed re: Empire. The alterations were comparatively minor and did nowhere near the damage of the revisions to Episode IV.

3-d edition
at a showest convention in 2005, george lucas demonstrated new technology and stated that he was planning to release all six films in a new 3-d film format, beginning with either a new hope or the phantom menace in 2007. In january 2007, starwars.com's questions & answers section stated that lucasfilm was busy with other upcoming media such as the star wars live-action tv series, indiana jones and the kingdom of the crystal skull and media related to the 30th anniversary of star wars. thus the release was postponed indefinitely.

lets hope that means forever.

I actually had the opportunity to see a small portion of the 3-D version of Star Wars at a special screening. It was... odd. The technology that they used appears to take the entire film and re-paint it for the other eye, and they can vary the 3-D depth effect by how much they shift over the second eye version, but it seemed like everything appeared in distinct "planes" and the results were sort of like a pop-up book. The 3-D-ness was very much apparent, and I think exaggeratedly so. It was "neat" in a technological way, but I certainly wouldn't say that it made it "better"!
