Retro sci-fi serial

It seems as though we've been working on this forever, but finally completed chapter one of our micro budget, retro sci-fi serial, "Thirty Second Doom", inspired by the classic cliffhangers of the forties.

I've posted some clips on YouTube; the trailer, gunfight, lab accident sequence and some test footage of our vintage robot shambling about wreaking havoc.

Heh, cool stuff. Campy and classic.

What's with all the paintball masks though? Kinda pulls me out when people use those masks for their sci-fi films.

I'm nit picking, but the acting is close, but not quite. The thing, I personally feel, about those serials is that because most performers would come from the stage, the acting is usually over the top.

Anyways, it's looking cool. Lets us know when it comes out.

Yeah, regarding the paintball mask; when I first spotted it on Ebay, it seemed like a perfect (and dirt cheap) disguise. Unfortunately, it's nearly always the first thing people comment on.

None of us are actors, but will make an effort to camp it up a bit more!

Completely understandable. Just have fun and be sure to go over the top with your acting. Arms flailing, emotions pouring, anger driving... grrr (yes, this is how I direct my actors )
