Resources for learning more about the technology of video (make a recommendation)

Chroma, luma, 4:2:2, black stretch, gamma curves, etc.

These are all terms that I read about on a daily basis here (in addition to what seems like hundreds of others). As a newcomer to video, I am trying to learn as much as I can. Of course, this site is a great resource, but I would love to know if there is a book (or three :D ) or a website or some other resource that really would give me the basics to be a more educated participant in these forums.

Any and all recommendations are appreciated. Thanks in advance.

John Jackman does a great book for beginners on lighting.

Zettl's TV Production handbook - granted he was my professor back in college, so I may be biased.

I got a lot of useage out of "A broadcast engineering tutorial for non-engineers" Graham Jones

These are the ones I remember off hand, Im sure there are many, many more.
