Very nice, but why adding film grain? Is a bit like adding craquelé to a modern painting. Or do clients want it?
My list of 'reproduced flaws' grows:
- bokeh (shallow depth of field is a lens flaw).
- grain ( used to be a problem with fast (1600 ASA) films).
- reproducing old film stock with LUTs
- 24 frames per second for film-look
It seems difficult to say goodbye to the old chemical celluloid.![]()

Where are the boat and the lighthouse filmed? Beautiful shots, nice place. Atlantic coast? Cornwall?
Peter Bosman
I mostly like the results.
Looks great, what is your preferred method for adding film grain?
Chris
