Resetting the Timecode

Hello All,

First post.

I recently purchased a DVX100B. I'm not the most experiences camera operator/film maker, but wanted high quality images for my work.

I've not been able to reset the counter. I've been pressing the reset button in camera or VCR mode, but I can't seem to reset it. The only means is through the menu process, but I have the impression that the buttons should do the same. Am I missing something?

I think it only works when theres a tape in the drive...

The counter reset button only works when you're at the TC PRESET menu item, IINM.

Also, you cannot reset the timecode on a tape, it has to be written over with new code. The counter reset button on the camera will only reset the counter time not the TC

It resets the TC if you've set it to "TC PRESET" mode and not "REGEN". If you've set it to "REGEN" then the timecode will always pick up from the last spot on the tape.

Yes what Barry said!! hehe, that sounds more correct.. When in doubt, read the manual
