Renting a C100 this weekend.

Looks like Brian's 709Log, cineLOG and CINEMA.2 are highly recommended, yes?
How about C.Weed_5 ?

What would you use in:
Tungsten lighting
56k lighting
Tropical-strength sun

Your fave for grading, and for not grading?

Any tips from former AF100 users for a current AF100 user? Thoughts/suggestions in general?

Many thanks in advance!

The C100 is going to get you my friend. Be careful because it's like crack. The first taste is free. :Drogar-KnockedOut(D
I covered a lot in this post

The first thing you will find is how clean the C100 shoots at high ISO. It changes the way you light and how much more you get from your backgrounds. Base ISO for wide DR is 850 ISO. Very cool. For lighting I use them all, LED, Kino's, Arri's. All good. I dont use any profiles yet. Base settings in log or wide DR make me happy enough.

I recommend wide DR maybe for your first run. If your used to grading every shot then go for log but it might not be necessary for what your shooting or worth the hassle if you don't want to grade the whole project.

haha! Pssst... hey buddy, can you hook me up with some... settings???

Here I am expecting to go deep into the settings, and you say stay stock...

So you're happy with ungraded Wide DR? Nice skin tones?

Thanks for your blog post, I may get more into Colorista- have it, don't use it...

The C cams have very nice skin tones and I keep the camera set at wide DR for everything. Looks great and super easy to balance the shot with light grade. You have to grade with Log. It will look way flat if you don't. I'm not sure 3-way color corrector is enough. Haven't tried to grade with just that.

Settings are cool but getting to know the camera first gives you a better base to work with. Remember "Shooter" with his AF-100? He never used custom profiles and shot some of the best footage I've seen with the AF-100.

Good point re Shooter.

Have you shot any limbo lighting against a black BG? Will the C100 show noise?

Is Wide DR known as a clean profile?

Glad you're testing the C100, Chuck! We are officially putting our AF up for sale and 95% sure we're going with the C100.

Please post your thoughts here after the shoot. You might save me the trouble of renting one for myself! :Drogar-BigGrin(DBG)
