RENTAL LENS for GH2 - MUSIC VIDEO

Anyone know a good lens to rent for the GH2 for a music video and the rates I should expect to pay?

Was initially planning on using the stock lens or finding something to buy in the $500 range, but am thinking renting one of the more expensive lenses could be an option.

Would be great to find a rental place in Los Angeles.

Asking which lens you should rent to shoot a music video is like asking which car you should rent when on vacation.

Why not plan out your shoot in advance so you know which locations you will be using and the focal length needed for each scene? Otherwise you might get recommendations to rent a hot 2 seat sports car when you really needed a car to carry a family of five.

Write a treatment, go over with the Artist, make sure everything you want to do in your concept/treatment can be done. Based off of that then come back with questions and we will help you. Depending on time of day, location and what exactly you will be filming is what lens you should choose.

lensrentals.com and borrowlenses.com are very helpful services no matter where you are. I have rented a lot from them lately and I keep coming back to Zeiss ZF.2's and an adapter for my GH2. The ZF.2's will give you crisp images with nice bokeh. The hardest part is choosing a focal length and that would be chosen based on the distance you will be working from the talent and how close up or wide you want the shot. All this is if you want a nice, crisp image.

If you want something grungier, you could start here and add post treatment. I have seen awesome examples of that or, you can grab older lenses of Ebay to get a certain look.
