Need help with file types and HOW to playback on a local 4K TV. I can MAKE 4K sized files, no problem: MOV MP4 etc. but struggling to get my head around making an edited file for actual live playback on a 4K TV. I'm sure uploading to Youtube would work just fine.
I've played back files @ 4K from the camera ON the camera, no problem, but can't get my head around making the right file to PLAY hooked to a 4K TV. Files I try to render and load back IN to the camera (as the playback unit) are not recognized. I'm using Sony Vegas Pro 13.
Also, seems different TVs need different styles of files? Samsung uses 4 quadrant files A B C & D that are HD sized, stitched together to make UHD.
In my trials, simply playing back in camera footage, Samsung and Sony both worked through the HDMI port at 4096 and 3840 resolutions.
But how can *I* render a file to playback (through cvamera?) onto a 4K TV? I don't have a 4K TV yet so I am using Best Buy floor models with their permission.
And they know nothing about proper files types. I emailed Sony Vegas tech support and they linked me to "How to set render resolution to 4K" - yeah, I already know that part.
And, are there other options to playback on TVs at this time? I see Sony uses a sealed box hard drive for their content, and Samsung claims USB works, but I think that is only or HD not UHD.
Any feedback, advice experiences here?
