Renaming p2 files causing them to stop working

I renamed a p2 file after putting them on my HDD and the files stopped working. Does this have something to do with the file structure and since I cant remember the original file names, how can I restore them?
 
the xml file in the directory is what tells the system what file is what - you prob could get the original file names by looking in there
 
Ya I renamed a MXF file so I would remember what was in it and the file stopped working. So now I need to go through and figure out which file name is missing from the XML file? That should be easy enough.
