Rename P2 MXF

Did you know that*:

Take any DV, DVCPRO or DV50 based MXF clip out of the holy and untouchable P2 CONTENTS folder ...

Rename the file extension .MXF to .DV ... you can open those clips now in any QuickTime based application ... Two channels of audio are included ... no timecode, no metadata of course ...

Don't take it too serious as this is no official "workflow" ... but some users who messed up the CONTENTS folder could access their media again ...

*Tested on a Mac ...

Unfortunately, as stated, this trick only works with DV and DVCPRO, not with DVCPRO-HD. I never shoot anything but HD.

I was told it should work with DVCPRO HD somehow but I still wait for details ...

.DV and .DIF won't work with DVCPRO HD ...

Dont believe everything you are told!
I tried it with DVCProHD footage right after reading your post and it doesn't work.
It just leaves a bunch of wonderfully colored pixels scrambled all over the screen.

What part of "doesn't work" didn't you understand?

I already said it won't work with DVCPRO HD and I
wait for details HOW to make it work ANOTHER way.

Um, what exactly do you mean by "doesn't work"? Does it not get up and go to it's job in the morning? Or does it neglect to do the dishes at home? Has there been any tension in the family lately?
