Remember that FX-1 video?

I really liked it. The slow-mo works well. Did you shoot HDV and output SD on Digibeta? Was MPEG2 artifacting a problem?

What was the budget including the grade etc?

Nice work!

Thanks. There's more detailed explanations of the slo-mo and the workflow elsewhere, but yes, the final product was DBeta SD.

Total budget was $4500...the color work not included.

I wouldn't call the the MPEG 2 a problem really...it's just a different flavor of artifacting to me that I expect when using tools of this level. I prefer to see the cup as half-full; "What can I do with this format that I couldn't get before?"

I have never shot a music video and obviosly know that sound is not recorded at the time of the filming, but what do you use to play of the track back to the band so they can mime to it? It has to be something decent to make sure the speed of playback is absolutely spot on?
