Hi Everyone!
I've just joined. I'm at the moment editing my first 45 minute horror film which I did on my XH A1, which I'll be sure to share with everyone if they are interested in the results! Firstly though I need to get it edited! Which is where my problem lies.
After shooting the film last year I captured everything fine. All worked under the normal settings. Love the HD quality. Now I've come back to the tapes to re-capture some shots I forgot. Also I've started shooting bands in HD. So I really need to start capturing in HD again.
I'm using Final Cut Pro 5.1. I can capture from My XH A1 in SD fine, and yes I've switched the thing back to output HD. And the footage was definitely shot in HD. I've tried every setting I can think of in Final Cut Pro but nothing seems to work. All it does it tell me "Failed to initialse device control".
Oddly enough if I switch the camera round to a recording mode the HD picture comes up fine. But it refsues to work in VCR mode. Tried unplugging, shutting down, re-starting both cam and final cut pro countless times. Nothing.
What seems more annoying is I had no problems before with HD. It will caputure SD and will even accept live HD played into it. But won't accept capturing HD from tapes or even accept a picture is there. Driving me crazy.
Oh and I also tried playing it in imovie HD, all I get is a black screen.
Please please help if someone can!
