redrock red carpet

If it is allowed it for you, then it would be for everyone, and I dont think we want to go there.

...

What has happened to this thread?

Bad images across the board here

Leave it to Gage to post rocks...

Well, at least we know what type of film Mark and Lingo are making...

And I've noticed sex has become a major topic here on the boards in the past weekish. Maybe everyone is sexually repressed and it is catching up to all of us?

I've been absent from class. Don't blame me.

I think Lingothree is just a bad influence...

I think she is actually a SexBot that infiltrates threads and automatically turns them into innapropriate havens for the perverted.

Now, here is my feeble attempt at rekindling the dying flame of debate:

"Hi, I'm Brian, are you a famous actor/actress, producer, stunt man, firearms/props person, television host, agent, or director? No....oh....nice to meet you....

There was only so much time before we were ushered out. It seems the key was to know who they were and where they were.

I couldn't agree more. I guess what I meant in my post was that I could have tried to find out who the professionals were but I didn't. I was actually going to make the point earlier that it was impossible for us to know who was who. What were we supposed to do, go around and ask everyone what they did for a living? There wasn't enough time.

Now that I've had my say, and because I know how perverted you all are, I will direct your attention back to your chosen topic by showing you this picture posted in another area of the forum today (not surprisingly by Lingothree):

I fell on my @ss. I had a DVX on a steadicam, rollerblading backwards and fell on my @ss. It was somewhat strenuous.

Not that I was there, but... Yes. Hi I'm Nick. I'm a writer. They'll follow quickly with Hi Nick, I'm _____, I'm a _____er.

I've done events like this at work through the chamber and made tons of contacts in the business world and a few have become clients. A few have become vendors. Works pretty well. Will you meet everyone in the room? Of course not. But you'll meet quite a few people this way. Just my 2 cents on the subject.

No, the point was that there were over 200 people there and we were ushered out of the venue less than 1/2 hour after the screening ended. During the screening it was dark and loud.

And...say you've just introduced yourself to a cousin of ZazaCast who just happened to be there. Do you say "Oh...sorry...you're no one." Then continue on your quest, or do you continue your conversation?

Penguin! What would your mom say?? :-)

Shawn, I was simply posting something that has already been posted. Not my cup of tea, but trying to help everyone along.

Gage, nice fall. I wish that footage would have gone on, I was quite happy with the subject matter. Did you get so overwhelmed that you forgot you had to stand up?

Absolutely. There was not enough time to meet enough people. The chances of me bumping into somebody (excuse the bluntness) worthwhile were very low considering it was open to the public and had a good turnout. I am sure I could have met plenty of nice LA locals, but what the hell good would that do me except maybe a dinner date? I didn't have enough time to have conversations with every nobody I introduced myself to as well as find enough execs to talk to.

Gage

In answer to your first part - yeah I suppose thats a slight hinderance... like I said I wasnt there. Just replying to Penguin with a yes go and introduce yourself.

Second part - yes. Dont talk to anyone for too long. I dont care if its speilberg - he only gets his three minutes just like everyone else. Zazacast's cousin could be the next big thing. I wouldnt blow anyone off - not even Penguin. Just swap contacts and some friendly conversation and move along to the next one.

Penguin - yeah like I said before, the time thing does make it harder. And I wouldnt count the LA locals as nobodies. Say you bumped in to Mark Johnson a few years ago pre-FM? He just might be someone that gives you your first big break in a few years. There are quite a few DVXusers here that I can just about guarantee are going to be some very valuable contacts to have. Sure studio execs are nice contacts for today, but the contacts for the future are just as valuable if not more so. And never discount a dinner date. You do eat dinner dont you?
