Redrock Micro MFT Canon EF adapter

$500?!!! really?!! i think they are on for a rude awakening Birger offers 5 times the functionality and features for $700

I would not buy the redrock just for the fact it does not look user friendly. Does redrock make anything other than box shaped products? I know the m3 was the big thing but I have not seen anyone use it.

He said "well under $500" in the video. We will just have to wait and see what it comes out at. I used a prototype at the show, and it seemed to do the job that everyone has been clamoring for -- true iris control over Canon lenses.

Just tested a dumb mount 17-40 ef Zoom on my af100...
Apparently the zoom lens are varifocal in nature but electronically parfocal. I guess this means zoom lenses in this baby arent advisable. Birger would be the best option

What is that cable that comes off the controller?

It's still 40% more. For some people $500 is the threshold. And for some all those bells and whistles are not needed. Since I use manual functions over 90% of the time I will more than likely get the Redrock one.

that is good seeing more companies putting effort into M 4/3 adapter = more competition = better product = price will mellow out.

So, it's listed on the RR website at $495. Not what I would consider "well under" $500.

Question I still have is will it send power to VC-enabled lenses?

Where is this listed or mentioned other than that youtube video. I have people asking me about stuff like this for switching from 7D/60D/T2i over to GH2 and keeping their canon lenses.

Would love to see a base model with just a potentiometer and a battery to facilitate f-stop control and IS functions.
