Hi Jonatha

Most of the DSLR Cinema Bundle is compatible: all of the accessories (mattebox, follow focus, rails) will work with the AF100. If you want to use the full cinema bundle with cage you will probably want to do to things:

1. swap out the DSLR baseplate with a video camera baseplate, specifically the microSupport baseplate low riser: http://store.redrockmicro.com/Catalog/microSupport35mmAdapters/microSupport-baseplate-15mm-low-riser

2. you will need to raise the cage height to accommodate the taller camera. you can do this with a microLink3 and a 9" 15mm rail. Our cage builder's kit shows the couple of different configurations for the cage (you definitely don't need the cage if you already have the DLSR Cinema Bundle, just the couple items mentioned above). PDF of the doc: http://www.redrockmicro.com/start/resources/cagekitsetup.pdf

I used the Redrock Mattebox Deluxe Bundle with the AF100 on "A Verse Before Dying" and it all fit perfectly and went well together. The rails were great, the height lined up, everything worked fine. The mattebox is really, really, really, really big (which, anyone who's ever seen one can testify to) but it fit right where it was supposed to and worked fine.

Hi Brain ,
Thanks for your replay,now I can breath,otherwise i will lose .................just two months before only I had brought DSLR CINEMA BUNDLE with Filters from Adorama........Thanks again

Hi Barry
Thanks for your replay,did you use with DSLR Base plate or Micro support base plate,

microsupport baseplate with low riser.

The DSLR baseplate could theoretically be used as a support for the AF100....but it isn't a very good option IMO.

Yes we'd recommend the microSupport baseplate low riser. the DSLR Baseplate is really optimized for DSLRs. If you pick up the low riser, you have the added benefit that you now have a complete kit for both DSLR and video cameras.

Hi Brian,
does the microSupport baseplate low riser allows vertical and horizontal adjustment?

thanks

@Mike@AF

Generally yes, any support system based on 15mm rails with 60mm spacing, and has good machining tolerances so things can fit together well. All our gear is precision machined.

Hi Brian, is that your answer to my question on the adjustability of the RR low riser?

I can see that for vertical adjustment, we can perhaps use the RR shim kit, but how do you go about the horizontal adjustment?
I'm deciding between the RR low riser and Zacuto Baseplate, the Zacuto can be adjusted vertically and horizontally though.

thanks

boon, if i understand your question right, every FF needs a horizontal shift for interlocking the various gear sizes to the FF gear (some have a horizontal move or sway arm). the V2 has the thumb screw in the middle bottom that you can loosen and slide horizontally. which is nice because the whole clamp unit doesnt have to be loosened. i think this is what your inquiring about. as a side note, hands down buy redrock, solid components for a great price. the zacuto FF is almost double the redrock 3 gear kit and doesnt seem all that worth it. i kept all of my redrock rail components when i sold the m2e and will buy more to add to an af configuration.

Has anyone here used the Shoot35 FF? I'm wondering where it rates when compared to the Redrock Micro FF or the Cinevate FF.

Yes, we used it on "A Verse Before Dying". Ask Taylor Rudd and McgeeDigital as they were the primary focus pullers, and Timur used the Shoot35 as well. I know Taylor has a Redrock V2, so he could give you some comparisons after using both.

Thanks danielec.

Actually my concern was aligning my mattebox box to the AF100. I was hoping the RR low riser will allows some XY adjustment so that the camera can align to my mattebox if ever there's a need to.

BTW I'm using the Genus mattebox (no height adjustment). All my rail components are also from RR. I'm building with the RR rig that I have previously bought for my Canon 5D. I'm selling off my 5D for a GH2 as B-cam to my AF100.

@Boon

Yes there is up down and left right adjustment on the plate. For the AF100 there is no need because the baseplate fits perfectly. Just returned from a Panasonic AF100 event and you can see the setup

Also as a bonus the microMatteBox plus the microSupport baseplate also fits the Panasonic 3DA1 camera quite nicely as well. Barry, yes it's a full size cinema mattebox, and sometimes that's a good advantage!

brian, that is beautiful! thanks for the photo.

is that the V3 FF on the rig? any word or still the same?

also wondering what size rods you used, i am still on the long shoulder/encore rig rods and would need some shorter. thanks!
