C100: Redrock Fury rig

If some of you haven't seen, Redrock has released a new Fury line for handheld use, for several cameras. The design came from rigs that they supplied to the film Mad Max Fury Road. The C100 is one of the cameras they made it for (though they didn't use the C100 in the film, apparently).

What do you all think? I like the handle, don't care about the rollbar. I think it would suit me well for my style of handheld. Especially since I've had a moderate issue come up in my left wrist after doing more handheld lately. I'm not so sure that it's worth $300 to me, though.

Have a look.

I could see it working if you were on a set focal length with DPAF, but otherwise wouldn't it block easy access to the lens with your left hand for zooming and focus ???

Otherwise you'd have to buy their microRemote or whatever it is, thus increasing the price by over US$2K.

Note that all the pictures of someone actually holding it have the microRemote.

Am I missing something here? Isn't it just a baseplate, single rod, and a handle? Seems like anyone could build this from cheap parts on eBay for about $50.
