Redrock 15mm lowriser for 60D?

I am still new to my Canon 60D, and I have been looking for plates with rods to get so I can eventually get a mattebox/follow focus and other accesories such as a wireless mic on the back. Like I said I have the Canon 60D, and my tripod head is a manfrotto 501. I saw this and was wondering would this work, for my setup, and will it allow me to add things such as what I listed? http://store.redrockmicro.com/Catalog/microSupport-Bundles/microSupport-baseplate-15mm-low-riser

I have been considering getting a riser too for my DSLR. The problem is, if you want to take the camera off and attach the plate to a tripod, you may not be able to unless if you are using a Manfrotto tripod (which you are, which is good). Other tripods will not work with their plate- if you ever use other tripods or want to upgrade.
Its nice to just take the camera & plate off the whole rig and mount it onto a tripod.

But, the DSLR baseplate is better. It is made for the right height for DSLR's & follow focuses & matte boxes. With the riser, you will not know if its high enough for your matte box until you try it out in person. When I tried it with my camera, the low riser was too low. It needed shims. But, the shim supplied with the riser, was too tall.. so, it was an issue.
You have to go to a store that sells redrock gear and try it out.

Plus, the DSLR baseplate is cheaper by $20. Why not just get that? less hassle.

Their products work with Manfrotto tripods. So, yes. It should.

But, the low riser may not be the right height for a matte box, follow focus, etc.
Like I said, the low riser was too low for me. The High riser was too high. Its best to check it out in person to see if it fits. - The low-high riser was designed for video cameras, not DSLR`s so, the size may not work.

Ya I was asking if the dslr plate you linked would fit the 501 head. Im not looking at the lowriser one after you showed me the DSLR baseplate.

Actually, the best way to go would to to purchase these three items:
1. http://www.evsonline.com/redrock-micro-dslr-baseplate.html This is the bateplate for actually attaching you're camera to a rod system. The rod system is of course necessary with the use of a followfocus and/or mattebox.
2. http://store.redrockmicro.com/Catalog/DSLR-Tripod-Platform This is the cheese plate that allows you to attach the plate from any brand tripod to a rod clamp for attaching the rods.
3. Any sized rods. The standard is about 9", but if you're shooting with longer lenses like the 70mm-200mm you may want the 12"
