RedRaid mini

would it be possible to make a two drive sata connected mini-raid that could mount on the cage. i just wonder if with two drives the red could handle 2k scaled 60p rgb footage, 2k windowed raw, or maybe 2k 120fps. is the bottleneck the sata connection or that the internal reddrive would only be one drive? maybe the redflash will be able to handle these formats.

sidenote: i just showed a couple kids some hvx footage from my current project on a 23 inch cinema display and they thought it looked "real". can't wait to shoot 2k scaled 60p footage...

If you store 12bit per pixel 2K RAW, 2048 x 1152 (for 16x9), you are looking at 2048x1152x1.5 bytes per frame or 3.375 MBytes per frame. At 24P 2K RAW you are running at 81MB/s -- that will work on two 3.5" drive RAID 0, but 60 will require 202.5MBytes/s so that won't work (and 2K RGB is three times more data.) This is why compression is good.
