Redlake N3 / IDT NR3

Their Y series camera has been out for at least 2 years, this series is more aimed at cinema, at least on the product page they make it look like that. You can't really find much footage or talk about this camera on the web which is not really reassuring.
I'm looking to pick up a FS700 for my production house but if something like the Y series IDT camera is not too far off the FS700 price I might be interested.

Wondering if anybody on dvxuser ever used any of their cameras.

I'm in the same boat you are with the fs700. I've already put a deposit down and should be first in line to get one. however if the IDT is cheap enough I would purchase that and possibly save my cash for another camera or if the IDT is similar to the fs700 I would consider getting the IDT.

I'll give IDT a call and see what they have to say, and report back here.

The FS700 reduces rsolution dramatically above 240fps. But for affordable high speed, now there's the Phantom Miro, which can shoot 1080p up to 1542fps.

I have contacted the sales at IDT with a specific request for a quote of the Y series, they mailed me back where I am, I replied them but never ever heard back in about a week. Not really a good start, if the customer service is like that I don't care how good or cheap the camera is.

Mitch, the Phantom Miro may be "cheap" for a Phantom and it's lovely but unfortunately over my budget, unless you guys have some kind of magical deal on it? :)

Pardon my French but I don't agree with companies ripping of customers with proprietary bullsxxx, look at the prices for media, it's even more than Red charges. Camera price range from 25K US$ and up depending on model, definitely not for low budget indie productions.

This is a high speed camera. The CineFlash memory needs a very high sustained read/write data rate. Vision Research needs to manually verify every unit to make sure there is zero error. Remember that this is uncompressed 12-bit RAW data, and a lot of it. Trust me that they are not making a fortune on the memory.
