RedCode Raw Feed

Is it possible for the Redcode RAW feed to be routed directly into a computer for studio setups? So that you're not dependent on a digital magazine.

RAW to a Server

RAW to a Server

Uncompressed RAW would be an application of the RAW Data Port. Given an appropriate interface card and driver software in the computer its therefore feasible to consider constructing a DDR or Video Village using this approach... With regard to REDCODE RAW the output from the camera is e-SATA, so you should be able to connect that to whatever devices eSATA can be connected to - note the cable pin out is custom, so that does need to be addressed.

eSATA out?

eSATA out?

Hey Stuart. Maybe this is a stupid question but when you say eSATA out does that mean the data can go directly to the drive(s) or RAID controller without an actual CPU or other "brain" in the chain? I have been doodling around with designs for an on set solution that would put a Apple xServe with an Atto SAS card, dual RAID controllers and at least a dozen drives on a rolling cart. While I may still choose to include a "brain" like the xServe in my final design it would cut costs if I could handle the data from the RAW port without one.
