REDCODE Question

Now, I know that the camera can capture in REDCODE RAW and then converted in the REDCODE app.

The question is wether an efficient (wavelet based???) editing codec will be introduced with RED to work with 2K or 4K files. Is REDCODE this CODEC? Is it an editing CODEC as well? Could we consider support to edit with the original RAW files until export for effects is needed or grading is applied? Is it also perhaps viable to consider the posibility of offlining and then conforming in a so enabled version of REDCODE?

I guess that JPEG 2000 sequences or Cineform Codecs are an option but avoiding multiple recompression cycles is ideal both time and quality wise. I just don't think most people or shops will be working with uncompressed files given that the requirements to post a typical feature at 4K averages at 40TB of storage, not to mention the bandwith requirements for the storage system.

Edit: Sorry, I just found some of these questions answered by Graeme elsewhere. Don't know how to delete the thread.
