First off, please read this whole thing because it's different than just a simple wireless system!
How about a "wireless center" in/attachable to the camera. This would be used of course for wireless audio, but also for syncing to any external Red devices such as field recorders or other cameras. If multiple cameras are in use, all the settings on the cameras could be synchronized wirelessly. This could also allow the wireless audio being used to be fully digital or digital hybrid.
So it would essentially be like having a wireless router and setting up a home network, only with cameras. I know it would probably be a fairly complicated device and obviously have several other offshoot devices from that (ie: wireless systems, syncing systems, focus distance transmitters, etc), but it would give one single centralized wirless system rather than several wireless systems for several different things. Anyway, it would pretty much have to be an attachable accessory because something like this, having so many facets, would certainly delay the release of the camera if it were to be implemented. Plus being outboard would be easier to upgrade with new wireless technology.
Oooh, and if you are doing a multicam shoot, you could have a control center where a single operator could control every aspect of multiple cameras... great for live broadcasts or realtime editing.
Well, I don't know if I've done the best job of descrambling my thoughts, but hopefully the idea has come across. Thanks for reading!
