Red-raid

So what exactly is RED-RAID?

Will RED be making a 'RED' raid storage device?

ROB,

Is there anything YOU or other RED employees can say about future RED-RAID?

Obviously there is some interest in the higher frame rates produced by the high speed interface.

It would seem like a waste of effort for people outside RED to investigate 'RED-RAID' like solutions if RED are already planning a RED-RAID within a year.
Knowing this will also allay people's concern with high resolution/high frame rates/ S35 FOV etc, etc.

Will the first RED ONE be shipping with a working high speed data interface?

I'd also expect you're REDCODE/resolution/frame rates to increase in the near future which I'm sure will greatly help this situation.

Comments?

REDCODE frame / sizes are constrained by the max bandwidth through the compression chips. Once we know how they behave in practise, we can re-evaluate those limits, but for now, the maximums are 4k 30p and 2k RGB 60p.

RED-RAID is still in development, and further to that, we're not ready to talk much further about it.

We fully understand the wishes that you have to extend the already industry beating specs of the RED still further, but for now, the specs stand as they are.
