RED MX/GH1(3) music video

This is a video I shot for The Rockford Mules and Director Mark Har, It's called "Ma, They Broke Me". It was shot 80% on the RED ONE MX, 20% on the GH1(3), and one shot was on a 7D (3rd angle of the explosion). This is the first post of the video, I just uploaded it for the band last night.

Great, il like, some shot have a little lack of définition but it's really good (and the music too)

Thanks for the compliment! As for the definition, unfortunately there are very few cameras that can handle the highlights like the RED, so when put back to back like this it's noticeable. We did dirty up the RED footage to get it close tho. The GH!(3) is an amazing breakthrough, but it isn't perfect.

nice one :)
can you please try to point out certain red shots vs gh13? are the steadycam shots 7d?

Looked a bit over exposed or something. Did you shoot it mid day? The light looks so harsh. Didn't wait for the golden hour?

Aside from that cut at 3:59, where it really pops out like a sore thumb, it looks not to shabby.
I personally would have it exposed a hair darker, but overall I like it.

I also dig the song.

Definately looks washed out or something..Prob just needs the touch of a master colorist..

How did you determine exposure? Sometimes things as simple as a wardrobe change could save a shot. Light colored clothing in bright direct sun is a killer.
Once you overexpose like that it cannot be saved in post.

GH1(3) was all the steadycam and a few cut aways. Almost everything was RED. The one shot that was 7D was the explosion shot from off to the right.

We shot from dusk to dawn.

Isn't it a bit too bright?

Looks way to overexposed for me

Most of this was done in post to make the 13 stops of RED MX footage look close to the 8 or 9 stops fo GH1(3) footage plus the director wanted to go with a blown out highlight, contrasty, grainy look. Not really my decision.
