OK, now that's my turn to be helpful if I will get it... Can I submit my $0.2?
A semi-auto focus from the touch screen lcd with focus assist where the operator selects into the touch screen control panel (with zoom function option for to increase the detail) the area that would like to have or will have in focus. Working with transitions for the focus changes.
Comparing with the other focus assist proposals, the difference of this feature will be take advantage of the most recent touch screen technology. It will be cheaper 'cause it is affordable technology -- I think IMHO, easy to implement without so many R & D costs. And efficient.
It will help the work of the camera operator in any way other than as a substitute of the focus puller as it has been posting.
And if RED will just follow via the manual lenses, this can be done with a RED motorized external system, for sure. Though I think the auto focus lenses would be a RED must as I've been posting before. In order to justify why to buy RED lenses instead the PL mount offer, as well.
