Red Demographic

It does give you more time to reflect and think about what your doing and what flows best. You kinda have to build that discipline when working on an AVID. I don't miss the band-aids on my fingers though. :o)

:) Was a 'film-purist' emanuel! - I think your absolutely right about how closed minded the industry is to change. I'm glad I finally got all that crap out of my system years ago. 'Conventional Wisdom' is a killer to creativity but I believe that people need to educate themselves in the ways of the biz so that they can go forward and 'do their own thing' without too many problems. RED will undoubtably make a huge difference. Yes - it is the talent behind and in front of the camera that matters, but so do the tools!

Understood and agreed. I didn't mean you will still have been or you are or something like that. I just said: I'm not and I wasn't, either. :)

For some reasons. I'm glad: the same than yours.

24. Decided I'd rather be in the video production business than the web development business, so I'm going in for RED 404 with a couple of other people. We'll probably be incorporating in the next couple months. They've shot low-budget films, and I've got a fairly solid background in tech stuff, including digital imaging, so hopefully we won't be in totally over our heads.

The plan is to make money shooting events, industrials, etc. and renting the camera out. We're also planning to shoot features, which is the fun part, but we're realistic about our odds of paying the bills that way.

56 ... RED 103 will be used for my (& friends) personal projects ...
no plans to shoot features with it ..only shorts ....shot only FILM 78-2000 ....
just haven't been satisfied with video camera's , cinealta's ...
really like the image from the Dalsa camera but it's too much (as in BIG) for personal projects .... also got to say the SI camera has a good image..
Just curious Don, where did you get to see the Origin footage projected? Feel free to PM me with your reply address.

I.

13. I'm going to wait a while before I get my RED ONE, when they catch up to the people who don't have reservations. And I'll probably get one in late 2007 or early 2008. I've been writing scripts since I was about 3 and I've wanted to make movies my whole life (even though that's only 13 years). And I may get a cheaper camera before I get the RED ONE, probably a Canon XH A1.

With my XH A1 I plan to be a videographer, and save up about $60K-$70K (that'll probably take a while!) and then finally get my own RED ONE.

Well, the more craziness (of these things of net) I know the more astonished I go. But do you have any familiar connection to this business related -- parents, etc right?

Anyway, I wish you all the luck! With your age and with all this interest, you'll go far -- that's for sure! (EDIT -- Sorry, I forgot! :))
