Recover 4:4:4 from Canon 7D HDMI output

This software is old news. But ...In regards to the smaller than 1920x1080 resolution…there is a small red dot (overlayed in the menus) in the way that you can see in the camera’s LCD. In order to bypass it you have to crop the image. Those guys, according to their site, are waiting for Hudson to hack the camera (to get rid of that red dot) so as to get the full 1920x1080 image.

The video looks like this from the HDMI. This was captured on an XP64 PC using an intensity pro.

I tried syndicates software, and it didn't seem to remove the 3:2 pulldown correctly. The 180 frame shot at 29.97 should have been 144 frames at 23.976. Some how it came up with 161 frames at 24fps. Very strange. There are no adjustments or options for their software, it's drag and drop, so it would be hard to make a mistake.

There is another way, which is to replace the dot with the corresponding pixels from the video on the CF card. Keeps you from having to crop and lose resolution.
