recording with the magnification button?

So when i was out shooting/ testing with my hv30's Jag35 Pro, i noticed that the camera would focus past the small vingetting corner i was having problems with.

When i hit the button, bam, no more vingetting, but when i hit record, it goes back to the normal zoom.

Is there any way possible to record with the magnification on?
