Recording to computer, sped up?!

Alrite, so i just got my canon A1.
couldnt be happier with my purchase.

Sorry if this question has been asked, searched through the forums but couldnt find what i was looking for.

I shot the footage in 24f, and left all the other settings how the cam came.

I recorded the skate footage to my mac in iMovie HD, (thats all i have for now)

When i go back to watch it now, its all fast, like its faster than normal video. Its all sped up.
Am i missing something, or did i do something wrong?

please help!

Do you know where i would change this to get the settings right?

I have the video caputer format to HDV 1080i, does it need to be HDV 720p?

or where do i change it so that it is 24 fps?

all of my video is shot in 24f
