As many of you know, Canon says that you can expect somewhere around 12 to 13 minutes maximum at a time. I shoot mostly at 1920x1080 24. My times have varied from 11:51 to 12:03.
The fastest that I've been able to start a new recording is 2 seconds. I've tried several times to see how quickly I could hit the button as soon as the recording light went out and so far, it's right at 2 seconds.
For most things like interviews, this won't be much of a problem. For things like weddings where you're trying to catch the vows, kiss, or something else really important, you might want to stop and start the recorder prior to these things. Since each time you hit the button it becomes a new clip, you could reset say at 6 minutes and now you know you have at least another 11 or 12 minutes of continuous recording.
Has anyone else had different recording times or anything faster than 2 seconds?
