Recording the HG10 hard disc from the A1

Hi, my fellow slaves, has anyone look at recoding to the Canon HG10's hard drive from the A1 as a firestone alternative. Or even the possibility of recording to the SD card in the A1?

I want to do same Day Edits at weddings but my currency is steep against the US $
