recording question

[pronghornproductions]

Would this be a viable alternative to a firestore system? http://www.bhphotovideo.com/c/product/522062-REG/LaCie_301291_250GB_Rugged_All_Terrain_Triple.html

Would this even work to record directly to? And do you think if it would, could there be any possible dropout issues or non -record issues?

I am shooting a DVX100p and i assume I could hook this up through the firewire connection.

I'm not concerned about mounting it to the camera as I would most likely store it in a pack or small pouch while shooting.

No, that will not work.

Ok thanks for the reply, one question, why won't it work?

It is just a hard disk. There's nothing there to drive it. The Firestore has a built-in system to record the files. The camera merely sends data down the pipe via Firewire, but has no way to prompt that LaCie.

I see,thanks.
