Recording Live Event, Inside Of a Club = Some tips please

I have a client who wants to record some footage inside of a night club. Normally I do not like doing this kind of work as it is "Run-n-Gun". I like to frame shots, light my shots and this takes time.

So to anyone that has recorded someone in a club as a live event can you give me any tips or pointers? Especially at the bare minimum a lens that would be needed for something like this?

Thanks

Hold a shot for at least 10 seconds longer on the head and tail end because when you're running and running in a hectic environment, things seem alot quicker than they really are.

A fast [f 2.8 or better] zoom lens always is a big help in those environments as lighting usually doesn't prove itself to be optimal

I would go faster than 2.8 mwith primes because you may need them and bring a sungun or 2 that you cam give to someone else to hold away from the camera axis. gels & diff for it also

Also, depending on what exactly you'll be filming, you'll want to get use a tall tripod that can shoot above people's heads or find places in the club you can higher up or stand on. A crowded club can be impossible to get decent wide shots of bands and the like, depending on the floor plan and your tripod.
