recording interval (time laspse) on firestore?

I have my firestore hooked up to the hvx and it records in normal without problem, but when I set the hvx to interval time mode and exit the menu, the hvx does not recognize the firestore... what am i doing wrong. hvx is in vid cam mode and i have tried it with 720/30p and 1080i. no luck! thanks for the help
