Recording Images off the TV

hey all,

is there a way for me to plug the tv signal into the dvx so that i can record it directly from tv to mini dv. i'm shooting a 16mm in a few days and have a scene in which my character is watching tv and i wanted to prerecord something specific.

any suggestions?

put it in vcr mode and plug into the rca jacks on the side of the dvx...press record & you're done! works great, i do it all the time when i want to put a tv show on dvd..

i'm not sure if that's because i have an old tv, but i'm not getting a signal into the dv

actually, now that i think about it, i always come out of the cable box...you'd have to have an output on the tv itself if you dont have a cable box or some kind of receiver..
 
Cablebox, VCR, Tivo, PVR, Satellite Decoder, etc.. something with an RCA output on it. - Most TV's dont' have this.
