Recording from XL2 to Duo Core Laptop with Canon Dv-PC software

Hi,

I am trying to work out how to record direct to my Dell Duo Core laptop using the Canon DV-PC software. It wont recognise the XL2 regardless of what steps I take. I understand that the 'system requirements' section of the instructions state that 'proper operation is not guaranteed on a dual CPU PC' however I thought I would see whether anyone else has achieved this and whether there is a trick to it.

If not, can anyone suggest any other way that I can record direct to my laptop - I have Sony Vegas, but it doesn't seem to have this functionality.

Thanks.

I just have been using the canon recorder software on a centrino notebook, no dual core, but flawless...
seems od to me that the software shouldn´t work with a dualcore, I mean A LOT of progs wouldn´t work than also, right...?
I don´t use vegas, but there should be an option in your logging tool to do a "live" capture or non device control capture, all softwares I´ve used so far did this...
good luck...
and try your luck on dvinfo.net...

I agree - I thought it was unusual that Canon actually state in thier instruction manual under 'system requirements' that it may not operate properly with Dual Core Pc's - At this stage, that is the only thing I can narrow it down to (connectivity is all good - each of the hardware pieces are in perfect condition etc).

I will have a look on DVinfo net - I appreciate your response.

Shane.
