Recording audio with my DVX? Shooting tomorrow!

I'm filming 1 of 2 scenes in my film that have audio tomorrow! I got a xlr to headphone(?) converter but it dosen't fit.

I'm in a time crunch and was thinking of using my DVX and matching the footage in post. As long as I record in 24p when shooting 1080 and 60p when shooting 720, should this be fine?

Any other settings I should adjust? Any reason why this wouldn't work?

I asked this earlier but got a quick response saying it should work. Just wanted to be sure before I shoot tomorrow. Thanks!

I'd recommend only shooting the video using the GH1, not the DVX100.

Use your DVX100 as an external audio recorder, as if it were a H4N, etc. Plug XLR mics into the DVX100 instead of trying to plug them into the GH1. Later in post you can synch the audio from the DVX100 with the video footage shot with the GH1.

You might set the DVX100 on a wide shot for reference, but this isn't absolutely necessary. Unless this is for very lo-res web-only distribution, don't try to intercut DVX100 SD video footage with GH1 HD footage. (The video from these 2 cams might intercut for DVD, but I'd test thoroughly before committing to it.)

Record the GH1's built-in mic as a reference/scratch track, too. That'll be useful for logging, and also make it _much_ easier to sync it up later with the audio recorded on the DVX100. Or use pluraleyes software to handle the sync.

Good shooting!

The Plural eyes software makes it easy to snych cameras and audio tracks. It matches audio tracks so you need at least a scratch audio track with every video track, then add other video and audio tracks to your Final Cut or Vegas timeline and PluralEyes does the rest.

Awesome I'm gonna go for it. And I assume keep the audio at 48khz. I'll look into pluraleyes once I'm done. Thanks!
