Record P2 Card and Firewire to AJ-HD1200A Deck at Same Time

I have a client who wants to record directly onto the AJ-HD1200A Deck.

Can I record onto the P2 card and the deck at the SAME TIME?

Probably 720pn or 720p or maybe 1080/24p.

thanks

Yes. Record to the P2 card and then component from the HVX to the 1200A. Component output is live all the time except when streaming in through firewire. You can set your compoent output to 720 or 1080.

You should also be able to record to P2 and digitally through a DV connection to the deck -- no need to go to component output.

Yes you can record to the card and the deck at the same time, but you cannot record 720pN to the deck through firewire. You can record the raw data stream directly to the deck through firewire, but not in 720pN mode because no data goes out the firewire port in pN mode. If you want to record 720 to the deck, you have to choose the 720p mode.

Yes, only 720pN won't work, because pN data is not sent out the firewire port.

Any 1080 mode can be recorded to both, any standard-def mode can be recorded to both, and the regular 720p mode can be recorded to both. pN can only be recorded on a P2 card (or to the forthcoming CinePorter) but not through the firewire port.

Sounds good.

So I will record on the p2 card and the AJ-HD1200A Deck via firewire at the same time using either 720/p or 1080/p.

Thanks.
