Record audio via RCA line-in?

Could someone please tell me if the DVX100B is capable of recording audio (in camera mode) via the RCA (red and white) line inputs?

What settings would I need to change in the camera to make this happen?

I just spent an hour forum-searching and can't find anything on this. Yesterday I tried switching both of the INPUT switches from MIC to LINE and switching the Channel Select to Input 1 and Input 2, but I heard no audio and saw no levels on the LCD monitor. I hope this is a function the camera can do!

Thanks!

Nope. The RCA connectors only work in VCR mode.
In camera mode you use the XLR inputs.

RCA -> XLR adapters are a comon, and handy, accessory and will get the job you want done.

Thank you!

Do you have any suggestions for where I might get some at a low price? (although i do want high quality)

For audio recording with videocamera there always must be video signal following audio...so you can't record audio without video.
This is technical reason and somewhat long to explain...
In REC mode this video comes from CCD sensors but recording in VCR mode (using RCA inputs) you must always feed separate video signal to VIDEO IN.
