Recommended CF 128GB Flash Card for 5D3 - Video

If you're shooting H.264 video (either all-I or IPB), you'll be alright with cards that are not so fast. I would go for a lower model of a better brand.

If you're going to shoot RAW video using Magic Lantern, then that card is too slow, you need one of the super-expensive 1000x cards (and not all of those will work either).

Or you can go for two 64 GB 1000x cards from Komputerbay (which are faster than their 128Gb 1000x version) and hope for the QC to be good enough that you won't have to return them too many times. This is very viable if you get good ones.

what I meant is: for the price of a 1000x komputerbay card, you can buy a slower card from a high-end brand, and that's what I would do if I was going to shoot H.264 and not RAW

I am using the Transcend 1000X card with my 1DC which I guess is near the cheapest available. by ratio the 128Gb one are cheaper and lifetime guaranteed. I end up bought 6 of these. Performance seem comparable with the Scandisk ones.

If you you only shoot 720p 60F the 600X one from any brand will do the job
