Recommendations on, not if, but WHERE to buy the HMC150...

I got mine from the Lerro Corporation in Norristown, Pa. (outside of Philadelphia). Same prices as B&H. They might have the cam in stock.

All I have as an option of payment right now is instant transfer fom my checking account or a debit card. For some reason, B&H won't let me use either (I guess since it's on back order)...

Sorry for the inconvenience. In general we prefer not to take orders for back ordered items unless we're reasonably certain we'll have inventory to fill the order within a reasonable period. Regarding payments, in your situation, you could use a bank transfer or your debit card IF it has a MasterCard or Visa logo, I believe. You can use PayPal if you're in the U.S. Canada or U.K. only.

RANT ALERT
I like B&H, but to have to wait 3 weeks sucks. Today is Wed and this Mon is the 14th business day - they tell me that they "expect it early next week" but when I try to peg them on when exactly it will come they stick frustratingly to the script.

I am sorry for this frustration and appreciate the other person who pointed out this is not our delay but our supplier's. I know that doesn't make the delay any more palatable.

If you wish, e-mail your order info to me and I will see what can be learned about this.

Guys, I am not feeling lucky enough..... :(
Here in India, the Indian dealer company of Panasonic Professional Products is giving the price that is nearly twice than the US price.

Perhaps you're not aware that B&H has a URL specifically for our customers from India here.

Now I have to wonder if B and H is going to keep saying this 2-3 weeks thing and then at the last minute say - whoopsie like they did today.

We will say what we know or what we've been promised by our supplier. We do not make this stuff up and we are as interested as you in concluding this speedily and amicably.

UPDATE to denzlite: Get ready to be happy. Nuff said!

Looks like they are on the way

Looks like they are on the way

The status of my 150 at B&H went from "Backordered" to "Processing"...

Could it be that Panasonic has started delivering to the resellers?
I remain hopeful...

A.

They're comming, but they won't last long... a few retailers are getting them in stock today, but those units are allready spoken for!!! =)

Ggvideo

Ggvideo

I have been using ggvideo.com for more than 3 years now and they have never let me down, they are an authorized Panasonic dealer, not one of those Brooklyn grey market scams. Ask for Michael, he will hook you up.

If you are looking for an HMC150 I just confirmed that both GGVIDEO and Studio Exchange have them right now. Really wish I wasn't stuck in the backorder mess over at b&h

You can't cancel your order at B&H?

part of my order already shipped so it would be a huge hassle. Plus I don't feel like spending another 3k+ on the credit card while waiting for bh to refund me. I hear it takes awhile to actually get the money credited back. I'm just gonna keep waiting another 3 weeks and be a trooper.

I hear it takes awhile to actually get the money credited back.

B&H processes refunds as quickly as possible and transmits the info to our bank ASAP. For reasons which have never been adequately explained to me, federal UCC regs permit each bank in the chain from ours to yours a day or more before that bank has to kick the transaction along to the next. That's the sole reason for the "it takes awhile" issue. Why purchases are immediate and refunds slower is a mystery to me too.

Why not just buy one from Vidinc.net? I ordered one 2 weeks ago, and just took delivery on it yesterday. When I ordered it, they were just sold out, and was awaiting shipment from panasonic. I was #3 of 6. They said they were getting 20. So they still might have them in stock. They were friendly to deal with. They let me know the status, when I ordered, they filled me in on an update when i called them, and they actively called me when the camera shipped to give me the tracking info over the phone. A+ quality service in my book!

Yup, that's another reason why I ordered for fear of a raise in price, especially after B&H rose theirs. I'm loving the cam so far.

I bought mine from Vidinc.net as well never bought from them before, it was out of stock when I ordered it. A week and a half later they called to let me know it came in and shipped it out. Great service and awesome PRICE $3145 HIGHLY recommended will buy from them again.
