Recommend me a new lens and adaptor

I've been a happy GH1 owner of almost a year now and been loving it just like day one. In addition to kit lens I also bought 1.7 pancake lens which is awesome as well but now I'm itching for another lens. I need it mostly for taking pics and video of my 8month old son.

I've seen some awesome pics & video from Canon FD lenses and I was thinking about getting one of them.

What would be the best lens (and adapter) that you guys can recommend (should be CHEAP :) ).

You're itching for something you don't know the specs to? Do you want a wide angle or a portrait/ telephoto lens, for starters. Cos' I would just suggest you DIY your own fish-eye.

I'm mostly looking for a portrait lens. Are there any better telephone lens than the kit lens for cheaper price ?

There're lots, but none with AF or free talk-time either. :)

Nikon for starters are very cheap, fast and good with a well known smooth focus ring which makes said focus easy. Helios 44 has garnered attention as a sub $50 lens with a swirl like bokeh which is kind of an acquired taste, and than you have c-mount lenses, crazy swirl with crazier prices.

Or you could sell your wife for a Leica.

With M43 in mind I have a theory that anything < ~135mm (35mm equiv.) can live without OIS, anything more shouldn't. Hence, the 45-200mm. Not exactly stellar, but the go to for going tripodless-ness and incognito. I'm still debating if I need a 100-300mm, taking into account i shoot with no tripod and only a DIY 'Zacuto Shooter'-esque support I'm wondering if the sea-sick motion will be too much for video at the longest end.

I understand that none of the non m43 lenses will give me AF but I would like to have lens with better MF ring (both Panasonic SUCK at that).

What do you think about this cheap Cannon lens ? Does it make any sense to get it when I already have Panasonic 1.7 pancake lens ?

I use canon fd lens and they're awesome. I'm waiting on my canon fd 20mm f2.8, 24mm f2.8, and 50mm f1.4 to arrive. Using the 35mm f2 right now. Love it.

The canon 50mm f1.8 is a nice cheap lens but it's aperture blade count is lower than the 50mm f1.4 so blurred background and bokeh won't look as nice but it's cheap. Get it anyway. And your pancake is 20mm and your looking at a 50mm at which equals to 40mm to 100mm. That's a huge difference in field of view.

An adapter is usually around 60-80 dollars. Pick them up on eBay. Just do search. I'm using ciecio7 adapter. Works good. I think it was 70 with shipping.
